Airports in Beijing
As one of the busiest cities in the world, there is no doubt that airports in Beijing are one of the world’s busiest. The Beijing Capital International Airport is Beijing, China’s central international airport and is currently owned and managed by the Beijing Capital International Airport Company Limited. The airport is known for its call letters: PEK, as Beijing was formerly known as the city of Peking.
With 488,495 aircraft take-offs and landings registered in a year, airports in Beijing are always filled with passengers and cargo. Nonetheless, airports in Beijing do not disappoint in comfort and aesthetics as the Conde Nast Traveler magazine has recognized the Beijing Capital International to be the “World’s Best” in 2009. Its recent expansion is Terminal 3 which has elevated it to be the second largest airport in the world.
