Forbidden City Beijing
Forbidden City was actually the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It features the palace museum that comprises of imperial collections of the Chinese art. The Forbidden City is home to many former imperial parks, scenic areas and gardens, such as Shichahai, Beihai, Zhongnanhai, Zhongshan and Jingshan.
The Forbidden City was built in 1406 to 1420. It includes of 980 buildings with a total of 8,707 bay of rooms and it covers a land area of about 7,800,000 sq ft (720,000 m2). The palace represents the traditional palatial architecture of Chinese and has influenced architectural and cultural developments in the East Asia. In the year 1987, this place was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site as the huge collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.
