National Grand Theatre Beijing
The National Grand Theatre is generally called as NCPA (National Centre for the Performing Arts) and colloquially defined as “The Egg”, since the structure of this building is in the form of egg. It is a opera house located in the Beijing city, China. The National Grand Theatre is built on a land area of about 12,000 m˛. It has total of three main halls with the total of 5,452 people. It is built with ellipsoid dome of glass and titanium surrounded by the artificial lake.
The three main halls are Opera Hall, which is mainly used for the ballet, dance and opera and could be occupied by 2416 people. The Music Hall, several musical concerts and other programmes are conducted. It has total seats of 2,017. The last is the Theater Hall, which is used for play and could be occupied by 1,040 people.
