Temple of Heaven Beijing
The Temple of Heaven has become one of the most popular tourist destination located in Beijing. It is complex of the Taoist buildings located in the southern part of the central Beijing. The temple was visited by Ming and Qing emperors for the annual ceremonies of the prayers to the heaven for the good harvest. This temple is considered as the Taoist temple, even thought the Chinese Heaven worship, particularly by the administration monarch of the day, pre-dates Taoism.
The temple was built during 1406 to 1420 during the rule of the Yongle Emperor, who actually built the most popular Forbidden City in the wonderful land of Beijing. This temple was renamed as Temple of Heaven in the time of the rule of the Jiajing Emperor in sixteenth century. You should never miss this place, if you are planning to visit Beijing.
