Tiananmen Square Beijing is one of the major tourist destinations in Beijing. It is the major and large city square located in the hub of the Beijing, China. This is named after the Tiananmen Gate, which is situated to its north, dividing it from the Forbidden City. The Tiananmen Square is the major and world’s largest city square which is about 880m by 500m i.e. 440,000 m² land area. Tiananmen Square Beijing has great cultural importance as it was the place of many important events in the Chinese history.




Tiananmen Square Beijing was the hub of the June 4th 1989 protest, where the soldiers opened fire on the protesters and killed more than 800 to 1000 people. Every year millions of people visit this place from all over the world.
